Found a great deal on non-fiction

I was looking for some non-fiction bestsellers and Dymocks had a good sale going. I picked up 'Atomic Habits' and 'The Body Keeps the Score' for a decent price. I saved a good chunk compared to other places I checked. Shipping was free because my order was over $99, which made the whole purchase feel even better value. Definitely worth it for budget-conscious shoppers.

Decent experience, minor snag

I bought a couple of graphic novels and a 'Reading Light' from Dymocks. The selection was good, and the ordering process was clear. Delivery took about 5 days to reach Brisbane, which was acceptable. One of the graphic novels had a slight scuff on the cover, nothing major, but noticeable. Customer service was polite when I enquired about it, though I decided not to return it. Overall, a solid choice for books, but maybe they could improve on packaging for delicate items.

Good book, easy order

I ordered a copy of 'The Thursday Murder Club' a few weeks ago. The website was simple to use and finding the book was no problem. It arrived pretty quickly, so I was happy with that. Just a straightforward shopping experience.

Comprehensive order process and delivery

I placed an order for several items including 'The Lord of the Rings Boxed Set', a 'Harry Potter Jigsaw Puzzle', and a 'Leather Bound Classic' for a gift. The website's search function worked well, and the checkout flow was smooth. I received an order confirmation immediately and a shipping notification with a tracking number within two days. The package arrived well-protected, with each item individually wrapped, which was appreciated for the boxed set and the delicate leather book. Everything was exactly as described online, and the quality was excellent. The puzzle pieces fit perfectly, and the leather-bound book felt luxurious. Delivery took 6 business days to regional Victoria. No issues with any part of the transaction, from browsing to unboxing.

My favorite bookstore!

Dymocks is seriously the best! I snagged the new 'Iron Flame' book and a 'Booklover's Journal' last week and they arrived so fast. The quality is amazing, and I just love browsing their site. I'll definitely be shopping here again for all my future reads. You should too!

Does Dymocks price match other Australian bookstores like Booktopia or Readings?

M Marcus 2 months ago

I don't think they do price match, no. At least I've never seen that offered.

Pretty sure they don't. You're generally paying for the Dymocks experience/convenience. Sometimes their own sales are good though.

Hey, thinking of getting a few books from Dymocks online. Does anyone know how long delivery usually takes to Sydney?

A Andre Whitfield 2 months ago

Mine usually arrive within 3-5 business days if it's in stock. Depends if they have it at the main warehouse or have to ship from a store.

T Todd 2 months ago

yeah I ordered last week, got it in 4 days. Pretty standard for Aus Post really.

How do Dymocks coupons work? Do I just punch a code in at checkout or is it more complicated?

K Kevin 2 months ago

Most of the time if you're a Booklover member and logged in, the discounts just apply automatically. If it's a specific promo code, there's usually a box at checkout.

1

P Phil 2 months ago

Yeah, just enter the code in the promo field. But a lot of the 'discounts' are just tied to your Booklover account so they show up when you're logged in.

Are the Dymocks Booklover points actually worth it? Do they add up to real discounts?

D Dana L. 1 month ago

Definitely. I get vouchers fairly regularly just from buying books I'd buy anyway. Plus you get a birthday reward.

N Neil 1 month ago

Yeah, they add up faster than you'd think, especially if you buy a lot. Plus you get early access to sales sometimes.

Planning to order a bunch of books, does anyone know what the free shipping threshold is for Dymocks?

J Julia 2 months ago

I think it's free shipping if you spend over $99. That's what it was last time I checked.

0

S Sarah 2 months ago

Yep, $99. Otherwise it's a flat rate from memory. Good way to justify buying an extra book or two!

Wondering if Dymocks does a student discount? Trying to save some cash on textbooks.

O Omar 2 months ago

They do! You usually have to sign up through their Booklover program and verify your student status. Worth it for textbooks.

6

C Colin Beaumont 2 months ago

Yeah, check their site for the student program. It's a percentage off, not huge but every bit helps.

Does Dymocks ever do those 'buy one get one half price' deals on fiction? Trying to snag some new releases.

R Rosa Q. 2 months ago

They do sometimes! Keep an eye out, usually around big sale events or specific promotions. Not all the time though.

6

M Megan Osei 2 months ago

Yeah, I've definitely seen those deals. Sometimes it's for specific publishers too. Also, if you're a Booklover member, you get points and sometimes better discounts.

Quick question about returns. If I buy a book online but change my mind, can I just take it back to my local Dymocks store for a refund?

P Paula 1 month ago

Yeah, you totally can. I've done it before, just make sure you have your online order confirmation or receipt.

G Greg Romero 1 month ago

Pretty sure that's how it works. As long as it's in new condition, should be fine. Check their policy for the exact timeframe though.
